12:21:09 From Cathy Adams : who wants to go after kim?
12:21:47 From DANIEL to Cathy Adams(Privately) : I could. my screen says Daniel but it’s Karni 😊
12:25:16 From Jennifer : I have something.
12:30:58 From Emily Chang : have a great one everyone! work calls. it was nice to see faces and hear your voices.
12:39:18 From Millie Hsi : I feel your pain, Karni. Our 13-year-old daughter, who has been a mostly A and sometimes B student, went down to D- in a couple of classes. I know she cares about it. Bit the distance learning method is likely getting to her. I have had to step back from the direct communication and let my husband take over. He sat with her and created a punch list of what she needs to finish and put a date for each task. I think it’s working…at least for our daughter.
12:40:11 From Millie Hsi : my point about me stepping back is bc I’m triggered by it and my husband isn’t as much.
12:41:02 From Cathy Adams to Millie Hsi(Privately) : do u want to share or have me read?
12:41:14 From Anita : Yes, everyone’s situations are different for sure! My 2 girls are 7th and 9th grade in private school (high school in Canada) and their online classes have been consistent and stable… I leave it up to them to take care of their own stuff.
12:41:25 From Millie Hsi to Cathy Adams(Privately) : I’m happy to share, if helpful
12:43:27 From Helen Chisholm : Have you got any tips on coping with untruths being told to do with how much work has been completed during the online schooling day
12:45:31 From Anita : That’s resonates so much with me Todd! I have to walk away and choose peace, otherwise the negative interactions take over my whole existence!
12:46:18 From Kimmee Sauerwine : can I add something from the teacher side?
12:46:25 From Phil & Sarah : In this experiment, and even during the regular school year, the teacher’s at our school use multiple app/splatforms (Google Classroom, Showbie, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat,, and more) for learning and submission. It has definitely been challenging COVID/preCOVID for our son (14yo) to always submit to the correct submission location. I tried to help him last week, and I am used to working remotely, and there is difficulty in some cases with file accessibility, transferring,, scanning, copy/pasting between different platforms.
12:49:44 From Millie Hsi to Cathy Adams(Privately) : I have to remind myself to take the perspective that my daughter has always been a “good student”…normally. This distance learning scenario is NOT normal. So I have to trust that when things get back to something closer to normal, she will return to being the conscientious student that she has always been. We have to give her a wide berth during this unusual time.

12:54:51 From DANIEL to Cathy Adams(Privately) : I’ve asked my son to email his teachers and explain the situation. he does …reluctantly
12:55:18 From Peggy Jividen : Teachers are so worried, too!
13:02:01 From DANIEL : great question Jen. haven’t had this happen but I know it’s on the horizon…
13:03:06 From Helen Chisholm : Got to go. Catch up on the recording
13:03:12 From Helen Chisholm : Big lovexxxxx
13:06:18 From carrie : Are there any online tools for parents to show their children, or have them watch, when it comes to discussing porn? LIke a TedX talk or something? My son is sure to be discovering it soon and I want to be as prepared as possible!
