12:18:01 From Helen Chisholm : Tong len?
12:19:06 From Anita Fudalewski : Sending hugs and support! Fellow Canadian
12:21:25 From Helen Chisholm : Thank you Cathy – I think it is amazing – before I was the same. I didn’t want to do it but it is a revolution to change the perspective
12:29:36 From Anita Fudalewski : Same here for teen sleep schedule!!
12:29:50 From Millie : Is there something that you can join him in doing/watching? I talked about MY 13-year-old daughter in a recent Zen Talk and her resistance in doing things with us. She is getting a whole lot of screen time and not so much family time (other than meals). I then asked if I could watch one of her shows with her. So now that’s our “special” time after the boys (8-year-olds) go to bed that we get to watch her recent favorite streaming show. Just a thought to find something that you guys could share together…something HE is interested in.
12:37:17 From Gail Trieger : I’ve jumped on late. How old is the child you are talking about?

12:39:04 From Anita Fudalewski : My friend’s kid wouldn’t talk to me like my daughter does!! LOL
12:41:12 From Gail Trieger : My 15 girl is staying up until heaven knows how late. I couldn’t win that battle. We restrict Wifi but I think she stayed up ALL night the other night. Hoping she will realize that doesn’t feel good the next day even if she sleeps through to the afternoon. She actually seems to be in a better mood. Not battling as much.
12:42:43 From Millie : Is there a title to that Gibran poem, Todd? I need to have that front and center all the time!
12:43:01 From Alicia Schultz : can you share that in an email or show notes or something?
12:43:20 From Alicia Schultz : I agree with Millie!
12:43:22 From Helen Chisholm : http://www.katsandogz.com/gibran/onchildren.php
12:43:30 From Anita Fudalewski : That resonates with me Cathy… letting go is better than holding tight
12:43:57 From Helen Chisholm : Kahlil Gibran on Children Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.
12:46:09 From Todd Adams : anybody have a quick one after emily )if we have time?
12:46:54 From laurenburke : I have one I can make quick
12:47:27 From Helen Chisholm : What about a bike ride? My only went for a ride with a friend today. Social distancing respected!
12:50:01 From Helen Chisholm : Hi Todd, could I ask a question?
12:58:41 From Millie : Suggestion to have standing virtual playdates so that it takes the “workload” off of you. Have Emma’s date with Friend 1 at the same time every week or every day. Have Emma’s date with Friend 2 at the same time another day every week. Yada yada yada… And be sure to have your own Cocktail Hour with some girlfriends at the same time every week (or every night!!!) Sending hugs.
12:59:28 From Millie : Just my practical suggestion.
13:00:27 From Malini DiClemente : Puppy and kids call! Thanks you guys so helpful! Stay safe and sane everyone!!!
