We speak with Darius A. Loghmanee, MD Attending Physician, Sleep Medicine; Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. We cover all the bases from infants to adults. Is a sleep routine good, and if so what’s the best way of going about it. Dr. Darius shares with us why it’s not okay to tell your child to “go to sleep” and what you should say instead. i will forever be grateful for Dr. Loghmanee!!! My son admires him too. Sleep is such an under appreciated part of life until it becomes A) fragmented, B) one cannot obtain it, or C) finds it elusive. When a child experiences any of the above, it’s affects go beyond just a sleepy child. Dr. Loghmanee was able to see past my son’s self-destructive behaviors and get to the cause. In Connor’s case it was undiagnosed allergies that prevented him from breathing through his nose causing him to mouth breathe. The mouth breathing enlarged his tonsils and adenoids causing him to snore. Snoring fragments sleep. Fragmented sleep has signs and symptoms almost identical to ADHD. No wonder Connor was struggling in school and having a hard time controlling his emotions! Thank you Dr. Loghmanee for bringing peace to our home and joy to our hearts! You gave Connor something I could not, the ability to sleep tight!!!! That is priceless. And thank you Zen Parenting for posting such valuable information.
Thanks Valerie for your kind words. We fell in love with Dr. Darius the moment we met him. can’t quite comprehend what he’s done for your family. Todd
